10 dreamy designs from Net-a-Porter’s Ramadan edit

Netaporter Ramadan modestish

Consistently on top of the Ramadan fashion game with curated designer edits and exclusive collaborations for the Muslim Holy Month year after year, Net-a-Porter has yet again unveiled a spectacular style line-up for Ramadan 2021, which begins this week. “Designs reflect the needs of the local customer, whose searches for maxi and midi dresses increase by 80% during the Ramadan period,” states a press release from Net-a-Porter. The campaign launch comes shortly after the luxury e-tailer unveiled a new localised platform in Arabic for its Middle East consumers, with personal shopping services dedicated to consumers in the Arab world.

Renowned international brands such as Carolina Herrera, Zimmermann, and Oscar De La Renta, along with regional labels like SemSem and Taller Marmo are just some of the designers included in this year’s Ramadan edit by Net-a-Porter. The campaign was shot at ‘Garden City’ which is a UNESCO Heritage site located in the Emirate of Al Ain, in the UAE:

The pandemic is still spreading across many countries, and Ramadan “normalcy” has yet to resume — but while this year’s Ramadan and Eid holidays may not encompass the grand celebrations of traditions past, fashion has an undeniable psychological effect, so you can bet we will be dressing up nonetheless. With some formal numbers and a range of versatile ready-to-wear pieces, here are our 10 favourite ensembles from Net-a-Porter’s Ramadan edit:

This romantic Zimmerman maxi dress is giving us major Bridgerton vibes. The flowy sleeves and intricate stitching are classic fashion staples.

This Etro piece screams ‘go bold or go home!’ The vibrant statement yellow blouse with golden hues comes with a matching skirt. The eclectic pattern and bright colours will make this outfit perfect for a decadent iftar party, or even an intimate suhoor with family.

Even though we may not be able to travel to Morocco right now, you can still imagine yourself roaming around the streets of Marrakesh in this fabulous Louisa Parris kaftan. Layer it over wide-legged palazzos for a dramatic finish.

You can’t go wrong with a silk dress, and this olive green style by Taller Marmo is minimalist, light and breezy — we would accessorise with a chunky gold choker.

An Oscar De La Renta dress is always a winner. This dreamy, deep blue gown, with sequins dripping all over is perfect for a night out under the stars.

ANDREWGYN converted the idea of a simple black dress into a fabulous statement piece, with a diamond-studded collar and feather sleeves that exude grandeur and regality.

This Jenny Packham tulle dress is bringing back old Hollywood charm and class, and looks like it came straight out of a fairy tale.

This elegant cream dress by Rasario has a sophisticated, loose ribbon around the collar, making the silhouette simple yet incredibly chic.

Who says you can’t wear black and white during the summer? Carolina Herrera’s floral black and white dress is here to prove you wrong. Oversized stud earrings make the perfect finisher for this ensemble.

This Johanna Ortiz piece will transport you to the French Riviera this summer, with embroidered palm trees that add a pop of colour and liveliness: a much-needed energy that we will help revive the Ramadan spirit.
